Daily Routine: Step Five - Night Routine

Hello!

Firstly, I hope you've all been...urm..."enjoying" the snow this weekend! I've been snowed in and had to call work with the cliche of "hey...so I can get out of the driveway let alone the village..." but apparently it's been absolutely DEAD in town and shops have been told by the police that it's better to close and go home whilst it's still light, rather than stick around and be completely stuck! I can tell you that snow days are no fun when you can't go anywhere at all and are suffering with a kidney infection anyway! I kinda hope I can get to work tomorrow (targets to make yeah?) but considering it's still a mild blizzard outside, I don't see that being very likely! (As I had to save this and return to it on Saturday, I can tell you all that no, I did not get into work today. The road outside is like ice and although I possibly could've gotten in....I probably wouldn't have been able to get home. Not cool.)

Anyway, enough about snow, on with the post! So this is the last bit of my main daily routine, the nightly ritual!

Cleanse:

  • bareMinerals Purifying Cleanser and Superdrug Cotton Wool Pads - Now then, you can use this at night as you would in the morning...dampen your face, rub one to two pumps of this onto your face and then rinse off....but we all know I'm fairly lazy with most things, so if I can cut a corner in my routine, I will! I brought this spray bottle in the 99p store but you can pick them up in places like Boots and Superdrug too I think. I pumped 32 pumps of cleanser into it (don't ask...I've got a thing about the number 32 for some reason!) and then filled it up with warm water. Give it a shake and then put a few sprays of this onto the cotton wool pads and it takes off all my makeup in a gentle way but also cleanses my face really well. It's absolutely great for eye makeup removal too I found and there isn't any residue and no need to tone afterwards either! BOOM! Laziness at it's finest! (Side note: I only seem to use the Superdrug Cotton Wool Pads now because I found that they are the only ones that don't fall apart, but equally don't feel like it's the thinnest bit of cotton wool on the world. Am I the only one who has a cotton wool pad preference??)
Moiturisers:

  • The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream - I'm in the process of using this up but I think I'll repurchase when it's run out. I really like the fact that although it's thicker than the day cream, it doesn't feel heavy. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling nicely hydrated.
  • The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil - I'm using this instead of a serum at the moment as my bareMinerals one has run out! It's ok and my skin does feel really smooth in the morning but I wouldn't replace my serum with this for the long term!
  • bareMinerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment - I literally can't even explain how much I love this product! It's the final step in your night routine and it's a powder that you buff all over your face. It's got the highest concentration of Active Soil Complex in it, which basically brings any impurities out, makes your skin smoother and helps to bring new skin cells to the surface making your face feel hydrated and plumper. I've seriously seen so much difference in the appearance of the pores on my nose, which is where I used to be most paranoid about blackheads etc, that I honestly can't live without this product in my life anymore! The only downside is that it's £45 for one pot. I mean that pot will last you ages...but still...it's a lot of money to fork out when you're working part-time! They do this in 4 colours but as I'm not fussed about people seeing me without makeup on, I have the shade "Clear" (the others are Light, Medium and Tan)

A quick look inside the bareMinerals PTNT. That brush is so god damn soft!! I'd say the major downside to this packaging is that you can't see how much you've got left. That always annoys me as then you don't know when you need to buy more!

Body Moisturiser:

  • Johnson's Body Care Dreamy Skin Cream - I featured this in my "probably shouldn't have brought" series because I always forgot to use it. I've been making a huge effort to remember each night as a) I love the smell, b) I think it helps me sleep better and c) it makes me skin so freaking soft! The smell to me is just really comforting and just makes me feel like "yep...bedtime now!" which I think helps me relax a bit more as I'm trying to drift off to sleep. I've had this for a while now so I don't actually know if they still do it or not...I'll have to have a look in Boots next time I'm in there!
So that's the end of my daily routine series! What do you think of my night time routine? Anything I'm missing? Anything you want longer reviews on? Hope you're all having a good day and not having to go out in the snow!

Until next time,
xoxo

Daily Routine: Step Four - Haircare/Styling Products

Hello!

So to continue with my daily routine series, this is the haircare and styling products I use before heading off to work. I have quite a few of them but I tend to vary what I use depending on the day/what kind of look I want to go for.. I have super short hair so it's a little silly having LOADS of products as I literally blow dry my hair for about 2 minutes before it's dry and don't have any need to straighten it either.

  • Charles Worthington Front Row Sea Salt Spray - This is really good for giving the top part of my hair some beachy waves. It smells good too. I think I got this on a 3 for 2 or something as I would've brought a cheaper one I think.
  • Bumble and Bumble Texture Creme - I got this about a year ago and liked it...then stopped using it for some reason. I recently started using it again and remembered why I stopped using it. It makes my hair feel really dry and I don't like that at all. I gave it to my sister though who loves that kind of look/feel so at least it's not wasted I guess!
  • Redken Color Extend Spray - I got this in a She Said Beauty box but have only recently started using it. I think it has been helping my coloured hair stay the right colour but I wouldn't buy this one again if I can get something cheaper I think.

  • VO5 Extreme Style ReWork - This is my favourite hair product as it's just fab at giving my hair some scrunched up "style" without making it feel dry at all. I've got two because I lost one, brought one, then found the other one!
  • VO5 Extreme Style MattClay - This is for days when I don't want a super hold for my hair. I like the look it gives but I've not overly keen on the feel of this product in my hands.
  • Eco Freako Cherry Almond Texturiser - I brought this at the same time as the Bumble and Bumble stuff and I actually prefer this...it does a very similar thing to the B&B one but doesn't make my hair feel dry at all.
  • Not Pictured - VO5 Wax - I keep losing this pot so I don't know what it's actually called but it's just a basic wax that I really love for when I want a more slick look. It's got really good hold but doesn't look waxy if that makes sense?

  • Fish Defining Spray Wax - This is handy for days when I'm not fussed about hold but just want something to give me a bit of definition. For lazy days!
  • L'oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray - This was my go to hairspray after my Fudge Membrane Gas ran out. Gives really good hold and give my hair a bit of shine.
  • Lee Stafford Firm Hold Barnet Spray - I got this in the 3 for 2 when I was buying the purple shampoo  and conditioner. It's SO good but you have to be careful with how much you use because I have, on occasion, had days when I can literally lift all my hair up like a wig almost (to the amusement of my work mates!) I love the smell of this as my very first hair product was a Lee Stafford spray wax and it makes me think of being younger! Haha! This is now my go to hairspray and I would re-purchase this again and again as it does exactly what I want without making my hair feel horribly crispy!

So there are my daily haircare products. Any styling products that you guys can recommend for super short hair? I was going to post a picture of my hair here but the only one I have is me after work, looking absolutely bedraggled with now lip colour on (which makes me look a bit dead) Plus my hair is all over the place because I've changed and put a hoody on, thus making it look like none of these products actually do anything! Haha!

Until next time,
xoxo

Daily Routine: Step Three - Makeup

Hello!

Right, just to quickly start....I'm going to point out that I don't use all of this stuff on my face all at once, everyday....but as I work for Bare Minerals, I have amassed a few of their products (there was a discount staff sale a few weeks ago and I picked up a few sets for dirt cheap!) and thought I may as well just show you all of the products that I use in different combinations daily during the week. Also I won't be doing little reviews of each one because it'll take forever and I kind of want to do longer reviews of most of these products instead. Everything in this post is in the order that I tend to usually put them on my face in the morning.

I'm keeping my Bare Minerals stash in a basket that my friend put my Christmas presents in this year. It's not super practical but it works at the moment! Everything else in in the Beauty Box that Mr What's His Name got me for Christmas (my birthday?) last year. I need to figure out a new storage situation before my next allocation arrives as it will be properly over flowing then! (Bonus points for spotting my Superman Lounge Pants in the bottom corner. One day I'll master the true art of blog photography....)

  • Face of Australia Face Base Primer - This has both Vitamin E and Chamomile in it which helps to strengthen skin and help protect it against free radicals. I got this as part of a blog swap and I like the way this feels more like a moisturiser than a normal primer. I also figure that using chamomile and vitamin E on my skin can't hurt whilst it's in a crappy mood right?
  • Bare Minerals Prime Time Sample Size - I like how you only need a tiny bit of this to help even out skin tone and minimise the appearance of pores. I like that it feels like I have a super smooth base for my foundation. I'll be honest, I don't use either of these everyday as I constantly forget to put them on. Maybe I should put them in my skincare box instead?

  • Bare Minerals Original SPF15 Foundation in Fairly Light - I finally moved on to my full size pot of this from the sample size I had from the starter kit! This is my exact match foundation, which is really nice. I like how I can go really light, medium or heavy with this and not feel anything on my face.
  • Bare Minerals READY SPF20 Foundation in Fairly Light - I brought this a while back in Selfridges (it's an exclusive to them) and I do like it....but I don't love it. The colour isn't quite the same as the loose powder but it's not so far off that it doesn't look right on me. I just....don't love it as much as the loose powder for some reason.
  • Bare Minerals Stroke of Light in Luminous 2 Sample - This is a great under eye brightener! It's quite soothing but just me a little bit of brightness without being too much.
  • Bare Minerals Correcting Concealer SPF20 in Light 2 - I like this concealer but I just don't find myself using it on a daily basis. My foundation, used with a concealer brush, does as much concealing as I think I need to be honest.

  • Bare Minerals Faux Tan Matte Bronzer - This is my ultimate favourite bronzer that I have ever used ever in the world! It gives me a nice hint of glow or can be built up to look like fake tan on my face (but somehow still only using a tiny bit of product) I like using this on my arms to give them a hint of colour without having to actually fake tan.
  • Bare Minerals Warmth Bronzer - This comes as standard in all the get started kits that Bare Minerals do. I like the colour but I feel that FTM is just a bit easy to use for my super pale complexion.
  • Bare Minerals White Hot Palette - I got this as a Christmas present from Bare Minerals (lucky I know!) and, although out of all the Christmas sets, this isn't the first one i would've picked, you really can't complain about free makeup! The reason it's in with the bronzer section is because it contains the READY bronzer called "The Skinny Dip" which I was thinking of getting anyway as it's handy to have a solid bronzer for days when you have no time in the morning but still want to look a little bit alive! The blush in it is super cite too and the other bits are always a bonus!

  • Sleek Storm Palette - I actually use one of the eyeshadows in this with a Bare Minerals brow brush for my eyebrows. It's the exact shade of my brows and works just as nicely as any other brow product I've tried. I would like the BM loose brow powder but just don't really NEED it at the moment as this does the same job (For reference - it's the colour that is second left from the bottom right corner - the deep brown colour)
  • ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium - I use the powder in this for days when I can't find my Sleek palette - it's always falling out due to it's size! I like the powder but the colour is a little bit too light for me I think. I have seriously dark eyebrows for my complexion! I never use the wax anymore as I hate the look after I've used it.
  • Bare Minerals Primer Shadow in Copper Penny - I've actually not used this properly yet as I've not really had the chance to sit down and try it to it's full potential. I really love the colour of it though and will be eager to try it out when I have the time!
  • Bare Minerals Round the Clock Liner in 1AM - this eyeliner is jet black with a silver sparkle to it (limited edition of course...) and I love it on my top lid. It just adds a tiny bit of something without being a complete glitter liner. I can't wear this on my waterline though as it stings like a bitch unfortunately. Other people seem to have no problem with it though (even other glasses wearers) but I'm just special in that way!

  • Bare Minerals Loose Eyeshadows in: Celestine (glittery light brown), Soiree (shimmery khaki green), Ell-If-I-Know (deep shimmery sea blue), Cupcake (shimmery light pink), Whisper (very light shimmer pink), Twig (deep shimmery brown), Flawless Diamond (glittery champagne) and Smokey Diamond (glittery deep brown) - I like how all these shadows are SUPER pigmented but stay on all day. I've had no issues with creasing unless I wear them for over 12 hours (but then I think I'd get creasing with all eyeshadows over 12 hours right?) and I utterly love the colours so much!
  • Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara and Flawless Definition Curl and Lengthen Mascara - I love both of these as they don't irritate my eyes, don't drop during the day and don't take 3 hours to take off. The normal one just gives my lashes a bit of definition without going OTT with them and the Curl and Lengthen one makes my lashes look pretty damn incredible I think! Used together these are amazing for nights out and insane looking lashes!

  • Bare Minerals Loose Blush in Laughter - This is a really nice coral toned blush. A little bit goes a long way and it really warms my face up I think.
  • Bare Minerals Rose Radiance and Rose Diamond Blush - These are a little more of a shimmer blush but both have a great colour for me. Not 100% sold on the shimmer but I'm trying it out a bit more to truly make up my mind on it.
  • Bare Minerals Loose Blush in Allure - This is a really subtle pink blush and I love it. It's exactly what I was after for work. I also use the pink blusher in the White Hot palette for days when I'm in a rush.

  • Bare Minerals Champagne Diamond Radiance - This is a beautiful highlighter but a little bit goes a long way, so you need to be careful and build it up instead of just whacking it on to your face!
  • Diorskin Nude Shimmer in 001 - I brought this a while back and I'm in love with it. I use it practically everyday as a subtle highlighter that just makes me feel a bit better about myself!

  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil and SPF25 Mineral Veil - These all came in various sets so are all the smaller sizes, but this means I don't need to get a full size one any time soon! As far as I can tell, these are all the same except the SPF25 one has...well..and SPF factor of 25 in it (always handy for Summer!) These are simply brilliant. They are a translucent powder that helps to absorb excess oil throughout the day. I like the fact that I can top it up during busy days (Saturday's at work can sometimes be manic!) to stop the shine from being so insane on my forehead. I'm really tempted to get the READY Veil so I can keep it in my bag without having to carry a brush too, but I can't really justify it when I have 3 loose ones!

I seem to have amassed quite a few lip products from Bare Minerals in the last few months as well! These aren't all of them as I gave a couple to my Mum because they weren't the right kinds of colours for me (all ones that I got in sets) so this is actually a condensed version of my lip colours by Bare Minerals!
  • Pretty Amazing Lip Colour in: Moxie (light pink), Allure (pinky rose colour), Pizzazz (deep berry pink) and Ambition (bright pink) - I really like the formula of these and the colours are intense. But if you put them on with your finger it's more of a lip stain. I'll review these for sure later!
  • Bare Minerals Natural Lipgloss in:Sourdough and Heartcake - I love the feel of these glosses and I like how moisturising they are. Considering I was a "I don't like Lipgloss" girl before this job, they must be good!
  • Bare Minerals Buxom Lipglosses - I would name all these and say how much I like them, but it's best to just direct you to my review of them here.
So that's my lot of makeup for everyday work use. I do try to use other stuff I have on days when I'm out but not at work or for nights out but I have so much Bare Minerals stuff now (and more on it's way) that it seems a little silly not to use it when I like it so much. So what do you guys think? Too much makeup for one person?? Anything there that you'd like full reviews on? Or are you sick of my waffling for the time being?! I'm think of starting youtube videos instead so that it's easier for my to get stuff done and they have full reviews on my blog instead of long waffling posts like these but I'm not 100% sure that I can cope with listening to myself, let alone other people! What do you think??

Until next time,
xoxo

Daily Routine: Step Two - Face/Body Moisturisers

Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying 2013 already (I've not been at work so far this year and have another day off tomorrow. so I'm really enjoying it so far!)

So here is step two if my daily routine. This is the bit I do directly after the shower (well, after towel drying etc) I've included both my face and body moisturising routine because if I do all these steps separately then it'll end up being some sort of epic, year long set of posts! (It's only since starting this that I've realised how much I actually do in the morning before I head out to work. Not sure how I get everything done in 45minutes a lot of the time!)

So firstly, I keep all my "day" stuff in one box. This way I find it a hell of a lot easier to remember to do everything and not miss steps out (like using a body lotion....I always miss the body lotion otherwise!) I'm currently using a Body shop box as it's super sturdy but with a clear panel so I know what's in there.

  • Estee Lauder Idealist Sample and DayWear Sample - I recently used these after stopping a while back, and I've recently remembered why. The Idealist smells great and it seems like a good product but the smell indicates some sort of citrus product in there and having done some research, it's Grapefruit... Now then, I'm going to tell you a little story about grapefruit....man, I LOVE grapefruit! It's one of my favourite fruits to eat (without sugar please)....but grapefruit does not like me. At all. It burns my mouth, makes my heart feel like it's full of acid, makes me feel really sick and gives me the most horrendous headache (same with oranges, lemons, limes, kiwi, pineapple etc (pineapple is my FAVOURITE and repays the favour by stripping my mouth of skin too. Thanks P.) so you get the picture right?) So anything with grapefruit in tends to not be great but won't generally kill me. However, the Idealist just makes my skin tingle a lot more than I am comfortable with. DayWear has this overwhelming cucumber scent to it. Again, this one just makes my skin tingle and it makes it feel unmoisturised. Not a fan. I really need to take these out the box and give them to someone who will get some use out of them! (Any takers? Idealist is a 7ml sample, probably about half full and DayWear is a 15ml sample and is probably 2/3 full! First come, first served....if anyone wants my cast offs of course!)
  • The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil - I brought this recently as a bit of an impulse "it's free" kind of buy and I've mainly used it as an overnight hair/face oil, which works quite nicely I think. I did use a tiny bit on my very dry skin this morning though as a test of how greasy it might make my skin look, and i have to say, I'm really impressed so far. The smell of this one wasn't quite as I was expecting but I like it so far. I've not had it for very long though so we'll see how it goes!
  • Dior Face Mask Sample - I actually don't know which mask this is, which isn't very helpful is it now? My friend Toyah put a sample of the mask for very dry skin into a little Dior pot for me to take home and try a few weeks back. I really liked this and the smell of it is really nice too. Can't say I saw a massive improvement in my skin but it certainly helped a bit. Not sure I'd get the full size one though, just because it didn't help enough for me to warrant paying the full size price!
  • The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream - This has been my staple face cream for about a year now. It's more like a lotion in texture and smells ok (not great, but then again, it's not over powering either) I used to absolutely love this cream as it absorbs quickly and made my skin super hydrated etc, but recently I've found that it's just kind of doing it's job...but not as well if that makes sense? I think my skin needs something extra at the moment. I'm going to try the Bare Minerals SPF 20 Moisturiser next (as I can get it on my allocation, so why not right?) so we'll see if that's any better.
All in all, my face moisturisers are a little bit of a fail for my skin right now!

  • Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy - This is a powder skin treatment for...well, blemishes obviously. I got this on my allocation in November and have been using it ever since. I like that it has a little bit of a concealing property to it but also that it naturally helps with breakouts and helps prevent future ones from forming in the same area. I used to suffer with multiple breakouts in one area, which would bother me so much and then I'd pick at them in frustration (lovely) but since using this I haven't had that problem at all. This also claims to minimise pores too but I've not tried it for that really so can't say if it works or not. I use this morning before makeup and at night after cleansing if I have a particular bastard of a spot on my face!
  • The Body Shop Coconut Lip Butter - My lips get quite dry during the winter so this is an important step in my routine in the morning. I think most people don't think of moisturising their lips if they get that tight feeling on their face after a shower. Most people use a lip butter or equivalent during the day but i find that moisturising my lips straight after a shower just helps to keep the moisture locked in and makes my lips feel nice all day. I love the smell/taste of this one and it doesn't make my lip colour slide off either which is a bonus!

  • Dove Invisible dry Deodorant - This is a nice, non-stinging deodorant that works quite well I think. My only issue with this one is the "anti-white marks" claim. I ALWAYS have to make sure I've put my work clothes on (black dress/t-shirt) on before this otherwise I get those dreaded white lines on them! If anyone has a full-proof non-white marks option then please let me know!
  • The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter - This is a small version that came in a set I brought myself on Christmas Eve (with the lip butter) and I really like it. It's much thicker than my other body butter, which I actually prefer. It smells lovely and leaves my skin feeling so god damn smooth and soft too! Plus I love the matte packaging. It just feels nice. Think I may invest in the bigger version when I'm done with this.
  • Dior Svelte Reversal Gel Sample - Again, the lovely Toyah gave me this sample (in a Body Shop sample pot!) after we'd had a laugh about how weird it smells! She then proceeded to tell me what it was suppose to do and I knew I wanted to try it! It does kind of smell like on old doctor's surgery, but I've noticed quite a difference on my legs from using this (it helps smooth, tone and help break down fat cells!) over the last few weeks - this is my second sample pot. I'm very tempted to buy this full size to see if it'll continue to help or not. I know I need to eat healthily and exercise too (started and started!) but this seems to be helping too so why not keep using it?
  • The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter - This was free a while back and it's a nice body butter. I'm not the hugest fan of the smell anymore but it's not hugely over powering so I'll be able to use it all up. It's a lot less dense than the Coconut one though so I'd rather have that than this one.
I do have other body lotions that I haven't included as I don't use them everyday (Garnier 7-Day Intensive Body Lotion to name one...) but I will be trying to use them up before buying any more as I seem to have started to hoarde body lotions and it's just ridiculous and bad for my bank balance too!

So that's my step two. What do you guys think? Too much stuff again?? Anything you'd like more in depth reviews on? (and before anyone asks....yes I can waffle more about these items!)

Until next time,
xoxo

Daily Routine: Step One - The Shower!

Hello!

Ok, firstly I'm just going to put it out there now, that this post won't contain any pictures of me actually showering...so sorry if that's what brought you here! Haha! I've decided to try and do a series of posts on what products I use on a daily basis but split it into a few separate posts so that I don't end up boring you all with a MASSIVE waffling post (so just the usual length of waffling for you all...)

This one is all about my daily shower routine. Now then, I know some people are super shocked when I say I shower and wash my hair every day, but it's a habit that I got into and now can't live without. I don't find my hair is super greasy if I don't shower or anything (something that shocked my friend at work the other day. Apparently if I wash my hair every day then by rights I should have super greasy hair on days I don't wash it....) but I just find that I don't feel clean if I haven't washed my hair for work. It's weird I know but even though I would wash my body for work, I just find not washing my hair makes me feel somehow unclean (possibly because the only days I don't wash my hair now are usually on days off when I'm just slobbing round the house in my jogging bottoms! Haha!) Anyway, my shower routine is pretty much set in stone now...I shampoo my hair twice, put my conditioner on, shave if I can be bothered (I'm very lazy with my legs if I'm not going anywhere!), comb my conditioner through and rinse, wash my face, and finish with the rest of my body. I'm very much a "heads, shoulders, knees and toes" kind of girl (also you're welcome for me getting that song stuck in your head!)

So, on with the products that I currently use....

  • Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo and Conditioner - Now then, some of you may not know that I recently made the decision to dye my hair bleach blonde again....which means that some of you won't know that my hair likes to go very...urm....ginger when I dye it blonde! This shampoo and conditioner is AMAZING for toning the brassiness straight out of any blonde hair. The shampoo is only to be used once a week (sure..that's exactly what I do....ahem...) but the conditioner can be used every day. These smell really good too. I really like the smell of the Lee Stafford stuff I've used as it's not too over powering. I got these when they were on 3 for 2 in Boots and I got the Lee Stafford strong hold hairspray with them (more on that later...) I'm very tempted to try the Bleach Blonde Hot Shots (or whatever they are called) as apparently they are really good for making your hair go white blonde, which is kind of what I'm after.
  • Alberto Balsm Coconut and Lychee Shampoo and Conditioner - These are my everyday shampoo and conditioner for when I'm not using the Lee Stafford stuff. I absolutely love the smell of this stuff and I really like how my hair feels after using it. I love that this is so good but so cheap too. You can pick it up in most poundland stores....but I always check Superdrug first as it's often on offer in there for 85p! (I'm such a bargain hunter!)
  • Wide tooth comb - I got this years ago and it just resides in the shower. It's perfect for combing through my conditioner and I can always tell the difference when I've used it. I may have very little hair at the moment but I tend to move around a lot at night and so my hair is always matted in the morning (another reason for the daily hair wash) so combing it through in the shower just helps my hair in the morning and prevents me from really pulling it when I'm drying it later. I also find that combing my conditioner through leaves my hair SUPER soft. All the girls at work tend to go on about how my hair feels baby soft and they do this weird thing where they all feel the need to feel how soft it is on a sometimes weekly basis...I guess that's a compliment??

  • Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser - This is my everyday cleanser. One pump is enough to clean your entire face and it's really good at taking away any dirt or makeup on your face (more on the makeup bit later) I do love this cleanser but I personally have to make sure I put moisturiser on quite quickly after using it as the pineapple extracts in it do make my face feel a little tight (I'm allergic to pineapple....which will never stop me eating it, even if it does feel a little like I'm dying afterwards. It's so god damn delicious!) Having said that, it's not actually dried my skin out or anything though, so it's obviously not doing anything adverse to my skin as I've been using this for a couple of months now. My Mum also loves this and has finally added a skin cleanser to her shower routine too!
  • Bare Minerals Deep Cleansing Foam - This is my once or twice a week extra clean cleanser. It literally leaves my face squeaky clean. And I mean literally. My face actually squeaks when I've taken this off! I tend to only use this once a week most weeks as I don't have very oily skin so I don't need to use it more than that. I occasionally use it twice a week if I've been out the night before as it's really good for taking the impurities out of your skin. I also use this as a face mask about once a month. You just put it onto dry skin and massage it in, leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off. It left my skin feeling lovely and soft and very very clean (which was a nice feeling after Christmas retail work!)
The only thing missing from my in shower skincare routine is an exfoliator. I'm planning on getting the Bare Minerals one (what a shocker right?) as I really like the idea of a powder exfoliator as my skin is quite sensitive and I've found that my old exfoliator was just getting way too harsh and actually drying my skin out further. Nightmare!

  • Gillette Venus Embrace Razor - I used to use disposable razors all the time as they were cheap and easy to get. One day boots had an offer on these and my friend said how good hers was so I thought I'd give it a go....and it was so much better than a crappy disposable one!! I was really impressed with how smooth my legs were and how much nicer it felt to shave! The only down side is how expensive the blades can be. I tend to only buy them when they are on offer as I think it's a bit ridiculous the amount some places try to charge for them.
  • St. Tropez Body Polish - I brought this in TKMaxx when it was down to either 50p or £1 (I say "either" because I brought several bottles of this stuff over a few days as it was so good!) and it's simply one of the best body scrubs that I've ever used. It's got really small grains in it and you can really feel it exfoliating your skin. Plus it's not got an overpowering smell and it leaves your skin feel super smooth! Not sure I would pay full price for it but my local TKMaxx always seems to have this in the sale bit so that's good! (plus I have 4 bottles of it stocked up, so I think I'm good for the time being!) I use this probably once a week to get rid of any dry patches of skin that have flared up at all.
  • The Body Shop Mango and Vineyard Peach Shower Gels - I'm absolutely in love with the mango shower gel as it smells amazing and just leaves me feeling so clean. The smell slightly lingers on me too, which I really like if I'm having a day off and don't want to put perfume on (although this obviously works wonderfully with the Mango Body Mist!) The Vineyard Peach one was an impulse buy last time I went to get another Mango Shower Gel. It smells exactly like peaches and is really nice.....but I don't think I'd repurchase as I still favour the Mango one....although it's always nice to have a variety of shower gels I think...plus I hear this one is half price at the moment so maybe I'll get another bottle anyway? I'm such a sucker for anything Body Shop really as it always smells so good!!

So that's my everyday shower routine. Obviously I don't use everything each day and there are a few extras bits I'll throw in every now and then (hair masks anyone?) What do you guys think? Too much for one shower or is there anything I'm missing from my routine that you can recommend?

Until next time,
xoxo
